Changing field dominance

Somebody knows the procedure to change the field dominance of a sequence in FC?

If I am not wrong, shooting in 16:9 progressive (dvx100be, PAL) requires a field dominance "none" in FC. Question: if I have some shooting captured from FC with field dominance lower, should I just copy the video in a new sequence with field dominance "none" and render everything again?

Do I miss something or I am right?

Thank you in advance for any help :)

Well what frame rate are you editing at and where does the new footage come from?

I am editing at 25. Some footage was captured - actually, i don't know how - with lower field dominance. So, I was thinking to put that footage in a new sequence with "none" field dominance to adapt it to the original one.

I don't know if I was enough clear in explaining the problem...

Well at 25p to my understanding it actually doesn't matter- it's all going to be 50i/lower on the tape. So whether the sequence is set to lower or none it should look the same. Easy way to find out though- just look at it through a monitor.

I know, but I noticed that in some images some diagonal lines were a bit "blurred" using the field dominance low, whereas with "none" they look normal.

Anyway, do you think is waste of time to render again the video with field dominance none?

Thank you a lot for you quick reply :)

Well it's your time so if you've got it to spare- anything to make things look better.

I agree :)

My question was anyway more related to quality of the video, than to my time ;)
I am quite new with shooting and I am quite scared in playing with FC too much, in order to avoid any (big) mistake...

And just last thing, it came only now to my mind. You said that it's doesn't matter the field dominance as on tape it will be 50i.

But if we speak about putting the video on DVD for playing, for instance, on computer, without field dominance set as none, will the video still look progressive?
