It seems that if Im looking up or down at them there is a color difference what is the proper viewing height? Thanks :)

I have a DVX100A and this is what I did (because I had trouble with my color/brightness match up as well). Hook your camera up as if you're about to download footage into VEGAS. With your video capture screen up, leave the camera on "camera" and don't switch to VCR. Then go into your camera setup menu and adjust the settings for color, brightness, and contrast so that it matches up to the same thing you see on the screen.

I flip my LCD up so that it's completely horizontal and that's what I go by when I need to get an accurate idea of what the footage will look like once it's downloaded.

You can also set the levels for the EVF (the eye piece) in the same way. I like using the LCD because it's easier to move around while filming, and you can see the scope of what you're capturing much more easily.

Hope this helps.
