Change a hat color in FCP

So here's the deal.
I thought my subject was wearing the same clothing everyday. He is an ice climber for my video. He has a black hat on every shot except 3 short (5-10 second) clips where he was wearing a brown hat. The hats looks identical except for the color. Is there a way to change his hat color from brown to black in these short clips?
Any help would be greatful

Color Correction.

Use your 3-Way Color Corrector and limit the selection to the color of the hat.
Then, adjust accordingly and, presto! Black hat!

I'm not very good with color correction. I have no clue how to do what you just said. Could you run me through it a little?

Put your clip in a sequence.
Double click on it in the timeline.
Go to Effects > Video Filters > Color Correct > Color Corrector 3-way menu.
Go the viewer window that shoudl be displayed for clip. Click on the Color Correction tab.
Click on the small triangle in the lower left so it expands.
Click the checkbox next to the color rainbow (and maybe the luma)
Click on the eyedropper in that window and click on the hat in the canvas window.
Adjust as need be.
