Does anyone know where I can find a chamois eye pad for the viewfinder, and what size to get for the DVX?

Re: Chamois eye pad?

i ordered one once and it was totally the wrong size.

Pookie or anyone:

I've bought a couple of the eye pads you linked to but they both have split open in a short time. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with these breaking open at the seams or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Chamois eye pad?

I ordered some from filmtools.com and they've held up like a rock. Very nice.

"BEFORE" you put the chamois on the eyepiece, stitch around the chamois (as close to the edge as you can), it'll last forever.

The glue they use is pretty useless.

If you've still got the split ones, find someone who can sew to fix them for you.

Re: Chamois eye pad?

The XL1 version is definitely what you want. I used to use the large round type but it kept falling off. The Oval shape of the XL1 type fits perfectly with the eye drop shape eye cup of the DVX. Good luck!

Re: Chamois eye pad?

You slip them over the rubber cup. It's kind of hard to explain without you seeing one. They are kind of like a glove with a hole for your eye. ;D

Re: Chamois eye pad?

I have one at home that I bought, but it doesn't seem very obvious to me... Explain further please?

Re: Chamois eye pad?

Scrunch the eyecup together and stretch the rubber bit on the back of the chamois over the eyecup. It helps if you remove the eyecup from the camera.

I hope this makes sense.

Re: Chamois eye pad?

hey i know this isn't the marketplace section but i have that i-cuff and i just hated it, just not my style, so it has like 3 minutes of use, i'd be happy to sell it to a dvx-user for $30 + shipping.
