Chalkboard eraser wipe/transition plugin?

I am looking to either create or (preferably) buy a transition that emulates an eraser erasing a chalkboard.

I have tried creating a series of masks in Vegas but am not happy with the results.

As this is being used in a commercial venture, we would need full rights. I did find this:

which fits the bill perfectly but in reading their terms of use, I don't think it will work for our end product.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only way to know for sure if it will work for you is to send them an email and ask. No harm in doing that.

Yes, that was a consideration, however, my client had a chalkboard background created specifically for this project (they are sticklers for owning rights to everything related) and it would not match the chalkboard from the 12inchdesigns site.

I was able to create the effect I wanted in Photoshop using a series of 90 images, masking a portion of each one progressivly with a blurred eraser on top of the erased edge. Drop those images sequentially in Vegas at 3 frames each, overlap 1 frame at the start and end of each clip. render with alpha and, tada...the transition. Using pan and crop and clip reverse laying the wipe effect on top of the static chalkboard, I can manipulate as needed.

I was trying to avoid the several hours it took but the end result was worth it and my client is a happy camper.

Sorry that you had to go to all the extra work but the client liked it and that's all that matters :thumbsup:
