I did the special fx i.e. light saber and hologram in episodes since 2, the current one which was on goodmorning america this morning and is featured on youtube right now, has a pretty simple hologram. if anyone is interested in how it was done, post. super easy in AE...

i didnt do the voice/audio, its the guy that plays "clint" his name is matt and the audio guy. this is a qoute from them -"we used a craftsman dust collection tube. miked the end of that and put it through a Digitech 2120 Artist processor there was also a pair of pantyhose involved. And lots of beer...."
I have no idea what a digitech 2120 is...

and yah it's basically similar to that tutorial, skip the keying stuff and go to
http://www.digitalpostproduction.com/2002/01_jan/tutorials/holograms9.htm

This guys instructions are kind of convoluted, but they'll get you somewhere...
to make the little blip I just duplicated the final comp and shifted it over a few pixels and then do a quick dissolve back and then forth at the same time as the warp effect...

I also duplicated the whole thing and tweaked a second version below the first....

It's a sound processor. You plug in your micrphone, guitar, and you can add and adjust effects like Chorus, Flangers, Phasers, Delays, Reverb, and so on. Then you output to your recoder of choice, and whalla!

Yeah, I saw the original "Chad Vader" on the myspace homepage, and loved it. Those guys definitely deserve all the fame they are getting right now. Bask in the glory sink!
