CGI budget

[boulder]

I'm trying to find a CGI budget for one of those schlocky Sci-Fi channel movies, you know Mega Python vs Mega Gator, Sharktopus or something of that caliber. Anyone got any numbers or where I can find them? I need just a ballpark. Thanks!

http://www.cityonahillpress.com/2011/04/07/the-maddening-world-of-the-asylum/ - the average total budget of an Asylum feature is listed here as between $250K to $2M.

I'd say $250K-$500K is a good ballpark for total budget (they use their own kit for shooting etc so will have amortised this over their movie output). So, CGI budget will be whatever % they allocate (sat 10%?), as they do their shots internally.

$250K-$500K is pretty much standard. For two million you better have some big names in there. 10% of any of this is a good special effect budget for a DTV film.

Thank you, that is what I needed.
