Century Optics Wide Angle Converter...

I'm going to buy a wide angle converter for my DVX 100B and would like to know what others have purchased. Century Optics has 3 that i am looking at...

1. The .7x Zoom Thru Adapter for $699

2. The Non-zoom thru .6x for $399

3. The Fish-Eye for $449 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...301&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

I'm guessing the fish-eye is too extreme...I like the $399 price of the non-zoom thru, but the zoom thru capability of the $699 model seems like a nice advantage. Any opinions here? I know this has been discussed a lot on this site, but if someone can give me a few tips, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Andrew

I have the .6x non-zoom thru.

Awesome for car interiors, small rooms, and landscape shots.

It does let you zoom in about 30% or so (I don't remember exactly).

It's a good price point. I didn't want to spend more.
It's a nice piece of glass, doesn't add much weight, and it is very sharp.
Not too much barrel distortion.

The bayonet mount is great. Fast to install/remove and very secure.

The fish eye will be limiting, unless you're shooting skate videos.
The zoom-thru will add much more weight, costs more, and might not be as sharp at the edges, or when fully zoomed in.

my .6 wide angle is already slipping off the camera grooves....i have to twis it really tight...so i'm not sure if its the lens part or the cmear part..granted its a few years old now...so its just wear and tear..but i'm pleased with it..its served me well

Yup, unless you're doing documentary, reality, or live work, get the 0.6 for all reasons, especially the weight. The 0.7 has more elements and is bulkier, but indispensable for live/wedding shooters or doc videographers, who can't stop filming to take an adapter off, clean the lens, replace the clear filter, and start shooting again.
