Has anyone used, or better yet, does anyone have sample footage of their DVX with this Century Optics fisheye adapter?...

Century Precision Optics VS-FEWA-DVX Fisheye Adapter

I need a fisheye, and I don't want to spend 100 bucks on something cheaply built with worthless glass. I've used the Century Ultra fisheye adapters on GL2's and a VX2100 and loved it. But I can't justify spending $850 on the ultra fisheye for my DVX100a right now... so I noticed this little guy for $450, this is very tempting.

But I'd love to see some footage or hear all of your feedback on it. I'm curious to know what the $400 difference is... and which one would you buy? thanks.

p.s. here's the more expensive ultra fisheye...

Got to tell you, I felt the same way. I jumped on the Raynox adapter and did what the directions said, and made my own. I put it side by side to my friends Century and you couldn't tell any difference. In fact, he was so impressed with it, he uses it every chance he gets.

It's worth a try.

your a lucky man I just made you a comparision. sorry it's kinda big but I have no time left. (also no time to talk about it...let the screengrabs speak for themselves)

If you plan on filming skating/actionsports spend more money on the ultra. If you film concerts and other stuff like I do to. You are better off with the superfish cause it lacks the vig. good luck with it.

thanks for the comparison shots man! that helps me out a lot.
i must say the super fisheye isn't as wide as i hoped it would be, but i'm still not sure if i can justify the 800+ dollars for the ultra right now. for one, i don't use fisheye that often. i do shoot bmx stuff a lot, but there are only a certain times when i feel the need to use a fisheye. and the vignetting on the ultra looks pretty bad. thanks again for the screen grabs, that helps a lot.

I must admit, the regular super fisheye isn't actually that bad - I film skateboarding and snowboarding and it gets you just far enough back to be "safe" from board-to-camera accidents while still giving you enough distortion and no vignetting
(it's also way easier to wipe snow off it, being flat and all :) )
