Censoring something with pixelation...

I've never attempted anything like this, but I need to do something for a funny piece I'm shooting. How would I either blur or pixelate somthing and make it follow that thing on the screen in Vegas 6? This would be similar to the technique they use when blocking someone's face in "cops" Thanks in advance for any replies!!!

There's an effect in Ultimate S for that . . .

But, use two layers (two copies of the clips, stacked) and a cookie cutter. Use the cookie cutter on the top layer and isolate the part you want to pixelate. Then, apply a pixelation effect.

Unfortunately, if it imoves, you'll have to keyframe it, because Vegas doesn't have a motion tracker.

Hello to all and thanks for the replies... I actually got this to work completely in vegas 6... I duplicated the layer and used the cookie cutter and cut out a small circle, then pixelated that small circle. I then keyframed it for motion. Worked perfectly. Thanks!

Yeah, I just did this very thing for my bloopers. One of the actors was holding my white balance card for me, with only his middle finger showing (flipping the camera off) ... so I just did the pixelate/cover thing, and keyframed to follow.
