I want to order Cavision's 3X3 matte box (no rods), but there are three diffrent versions on the price list they sent me. The MB385P is the standard one, then there is a MB385PW which is apparently wider for the Canon 3X lens, and then there is the MB385M which they say is the same but with the "back mount made of metal instead of ABS (industrial plastic)". The first two are $199 (according to their most recent price list), and the metal one is $250. My questions are: Is it really worth it to get the metal one? Is that deal for DVX users still good through them? Do I just ask for it when contacting them? Also, if I want to use my Century .6x with this matte box, will I need to get an adapter ring or buy the rods? Thanks guys for any help.
Maybe the metal one is heavy and the rods should be a good idea.
