Cavision Shoulder Mount

Well... you're going to want to have a properly counterbalanced rig. Otherwise, your forearms are going to get tired over time. Check Zacuto's website to get a good idea of what balancing a DOFA rig is all about. Can you take a picture of your rig as it is right now?

Well how are you going to be able to pull focus without some sort of monitor. Your money may be better spend on an arm and monitor at the current time than on buying a shoulder mount kit.

better than addind a huge weight to the rear of your set up is placing a shoulder support more up front where your rig is properly balanced by itself.

On my set up the shoulder pad is right under the sgpro.

coo thanks for the advice! i just ordered it... i think i can handle focusing... the next thing on my list is probably the monitor

I ziptied some foam to my cavision support and now it's actually pretty comfortable. I usually just add a 5 pound weight to the back of my rig and it balances out very nicely. Here's my setup, you can sort of see the foam and weight, but you get the idea. I'm also shooting with a monitor so you'll have to set your camera wayyyy forward if you want to see your lcd.
