Hi folks.

Anyone filmed with this setup?

4x4 Bellows Matte Box and the Century Optics .7x Wide Angle Adapter.

Jason at Cavision kindly notified me there shouldn't be a problem, but has anyone used it successfully or otherwise?

Many thanks,
Richard.

Re: Cavision 4x4 Matte Box & Century .7X Wide

I have the Cavision 4x4 matte box but I have not tried a wide angle lens or the Anamorphic lens with it. I was told it could not be done. But I could be wrong.

I also have that Matte box and love it. I have heard of issues where the bellows show up around the edges of the wide angle lens at the shorter end.

Many thanks for the replies.

Cavision said it wouldn't work with the .6X, but the .7X "will clear the matte box and can be used at full wide." An email to Century Optics asking the same question hasn't yet been answered.

Looking at the .7X at B&H yesterday I was skeptical. They are currently out of the 4X4 Matte box, so I couldn't attempt to put them side by side.

Anyone else tried this out or seen another posting on this issue?

Richard.

Re: Cavision 4x4 Matte Box & Century .7X Wide

I don't know what happened to your email. I do know that at Century we have no direct experience or knowledge about the compatibility of the Cavision Matte Boxes and our .7x wide angle converter on the DVX100.

We did recently introduce a Wide Angle model of the Century DV Matte Box specifically to address this problem.
