can i adjust the panasonic anamorphic lens to work with the cavision 16:9 mattebox like you would for the chroziel?

Unfortunately you cant. Only the chrosziel will fit the panamorphic lens. That is unless you have a workshop and can modify it yourself I guess. Its certainly a nice mattebox as it has 3 filter stages which can be handy with a polarizer and grad nd on the rotateable stages.

Not having either the Ana lens OR a Cavision mattebox handy, could someone who does take a look and suggest what might be necessary to modify the lens assembly or the mattebox so that these two would work together?
If Chrosziels' can do it, it can't be impossible: what's the major difference here?

the chrosziel "-pk" model has a special backplate made specifically to fit the square type anamorphic lense. youd have to make a simialr backplate for the mattbox you intend to use the lense with and replace the existing rear plate or assembly.
