Cast & Crew Screening

Blaine

Mr. Hollywood
We're having our cast and crew screening for our movie, Hollywood Gothic tonight at 8:00. I'm excited because it will be the first time they've seen the finished product. And it'll be the first time that we've had everyone back together since the wrap party last September.

Did you forget the part about "P.S.: All you DVXUsers are invited!"

??!
Yikes!!

Oh, yeah, all you DVXUsers are invited, too...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

P.S. We're hoping to have a public showing later this summer where I will invite all the DVX Users

Perhaps I can show it at an LA DVX Users meeting if there is enough interest. :undecided

Awesome -- thanks for the invite! If I weren't on the wrong side of the country I'd stop by.

Seriously, best of luck -- hope it goes well!

No worries, Kimko...you'll be seeing it, of that you can be sure.

This one was basically to give everyone a chance to see what they worked so hard on.

We'll be opening the next viewing up to a wider audience.

Wow! What a great time. You're always a little worried what those involved will think about the project. Of course, the crowd should be a receptive one. We had about 50-60 people show up. The screening was in Brian's (the director) back yard. We had a projector and large screen and nice sound system set up. The show started at about 8:45. Brian and I kind of sat at the back so we could watch everyone's reaction.

I am so stoked after last night. I had gotten to the point where I almost couldn't watch the movie, because all I could see (after the months of editing) were the flaws or things I wished we'd done better. The cast & crew & family had a great time. It had a drive-in feel to it which is fitting since the movie is a B-movie. Plenty of laughter, all in the right places. That's the scariest part...that the laughter will be in the wrong places and what we felt was funny would fall flat. It was fun to listen to the actors ribbing each other.

Last night was really needed to reinvigorate ourselves for the hard journey ahead of trying to get into a film festival and, ultimately, the quest for distribution. We had a couple of people there that had been through the whole process and one of them tends to be very cynical. I was really surprised at their positive reaction. Now I can't wait to get the movie in front of a wider audience.

I'm really glad your fears were put to rest. You've worked really hard and have a great movie to show for it. I wish you nothing but the best as you move forward with this.

Thanks, everyone for the kind words. I'm trying to get something together for somekind of limited "public" showing. I'll certainly let everyone know.

Horse, thanks for your critique, it has helped me keep things in perspective.
