Casey Neistat on cover of October Popular Mechanics Video Issue

That's pretty cool. I gotta say, I like his stuff. I don't follow him and have only seen maybe a dozen of his YouTube videos over the years, but neat approach.

But dig this:

He has about seven million more subscribers than does the print version of Popular Mechanics. And most of his videos get a lot more views than each print version of PM. And and many of his YouTube videos each get viewership about equal to the monthly visits to PM's website.

PM print numbers:

PM web traffic estimate (no idea if it's accurate):
https://www.trafficestimate.com/popularmechanics.com

CN YouTube channel and numbers:

As a former magazine editor, this all is nothing new. But still. Wow.

Joe, thanks for posting this. How's the article?

Jim, I don't have the print edition and only viewed what was online. I like how he shoots drone footage in many of his videos.

That's a good move for PM. He's probably going to say something about it in one of his videos (if he hasn't already) and they will get thousands if not hundreds of thousands of more subscribers.

The drone flying (even if it's automatic in this case) on the boosted board through Manhattan is crazy...a must-see.
