Case Study: Ender's Game

Awesome stuff!

I'm actually surprised about the final resolution of the film- at 10:05 they mention one of their multiple rendering outputs is CINEON DPX at 2048x880, which he then says "is the final resolution of the film". Does that strike anyone else as odd?
 
My friend at ILM gets very upset when I start talking about desiring to see higher resolutions than HD (or similar CINEON DPX at 2048x880). "You can't see it!" he exclaims!

I feel I can, but he's right that probably most can't. I'd be pleased if theaters just put a little more emphasis on picture FOCUS!!
