Case for Sound Devices 302

I am looking at 3 cases for the 302. The Porta brace MXC-302, Porta Brace 302 Mini, and Sound Devices (CamRade). The MXC-302 look a little large for toting it around. I was wondering if that bag was a two part bag.

Of the two smaller bags does anyone have a preference?

Dave's right. He sold me a complete system w 302 and a Petrol and it works great. Just the right size for unit and cables with no excess bukk to get hung up. Also, Dave, please see HDV audio thread I posted and comment if you have an opinion. Greatly appreciated. Your guidance has been great so far.

One other option for a SD 302 case

One other option for a SD 302 case

I love my 302. I used to have a Shure FP32A and purchased a PortaBrace case for it.

I now use the same case for my 302. Yes, the 302 is smaller but what I did was slide a Betacam tape box in beside the 302 and it fits perfectly! Plus it gives me an extra storage space. I use it to hold an extra lav mic and batteries.

You might save a little money buying a used PortaBrace case made for an old Shure 32A or 33 instead of paying more for a brand new one specifically designed for the SD302

This is merely a suggestion in case your budget is tight. If you can afford "new", then go for it!
