Case for Sennheiser SKP-100

My boom op, who is extremely fantastic at his job, lost my Sennheiser Pop1 case for my SKP-100 plug-on transmitter. I thought "ah, no big deal, I'll just buy another."

Then I saw the price... $47.95 at B&H.

I'm all for spending the money on gear when it will make a difference in the quality of what I'm doing. But $50 for a belt case? It seems overboard.

Does anyone else have recommendations on an alternative belt case, something about the same size as the transmitter, with a belt clip or loop? I've looked at little camera cases, but to get the wide, most are really wide.

Thanks!

My guess would be to look for MP3, hiking GPS, or Blackberry cases. Those might be similar but need some alterations. Still gonna cost you around $30 so I don't know if it's worth the effort.

You might see if your local CC has a leather working class and pay one of the students to make you one. I did that for a custom belt holder I used with my boom stabilizer. Getting the first one designed right cost me several hundred dollars though.

Both are very time consuming and might save you $20 at most.

Cheers

Thanks wabbit and BRH. I also found that Porta-Brace made one, but it was priced similarly to the Sennheiser. The Blackberry case turned out to be the perfect one.

I bought an OEM Blackberry case for 7100/7105/7130 models for $10, and the elastic sides stretched wide enough to accommodate the transmitter quite nicely.

The product number for the case is ACC-07492-001 if anyone else is interested.
