Cartoni metal release plate

anyone hear anything on this? with the cartoni plate I have, I'm having problems with the camera not staying seated. I have the screw tightened tighter or at least as tight as I did with my bogen head, which had no problem. I'm thinking of putting something between the plate and the HVX like a thin sheet of rubber or something, any thoughts or comments??

Sorry so much to post this so late but seems that one of the first metal plates manufactured by Cartoni in Italy arrived to Veinco, the Cartoni dealer here in Ecuador (Quito) on March 2nd and then came to my hands (live in Guayaquil) over that weekend. (Veinco was told by Cartoni SpA in Rome that the first finished commercial grade plate was sent to them!).

That plate is exactly the same in form and color... and almost of the same weight of the composite one... You really have to inspect it very closely just to find differences. But there ARE a differences: material and hardness. This is certainly a metal plate and it works extremelly well with the Zacuto plate and rods I own.

I do not know how much it costs or its price list... Veinco did not wanted to tell me that since they gave me that plate as a compliment.

I am sure you will be receiving this metal plate in the US and Canada anytime!

Regards,
Henry Epstein

PS: Thank you so much Elisabetta Cartoni... and Veinco.

Hi,
I see in the tread http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=84538 on dvxuser.com that you can provide me with a metal exchange for the plastic insert on the Cartoni Focus base plate. I have spoken to Abel Cine Tech in Los Angeles, where I bought the video head, and they answered my inquiry with "... As for the Cartoni screws I am also not able to get those for free. As of now I would have to refer you directly to Cartoni for replacements."

For the time being I'm on an artist residency in Berlin, Germany. I'll stay here until May 13. Then I'll go to Malmö, Sweden, for a few weeks, before Oslo, Norway, in June, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, for July and August. I will not get back to the States before late fall.

Can you be of any assistance to me here in Europe?

Sincerely yours,
Eva Drangsholt
