i've just received my new f100 head andd need to move the existing screw/pin 'widget' (for lack of the proper term) in the camera plate to the other slot in the plate (needed to properly balance a camera).

has anyone else done this?

i see that there's a *micro* phillips head screww holding the little thing together, but dont want to tweak that b/c it's very soft metal &*tiny*

it must be simple and i'm not recognizing how to do it?!

thanks in advance...

Yeah Me too , I have same head and want to do the same almost stripped the tiny screw already. anybody have any ideas ? i am about to call cartoni, this should NOT bt this difficult ot too and really sucks on such a costly PRO head. nuff said. Stuart

i got an email back from tech support at ste-man.

the tiny screw is indeed how you move the screws in the plate.

i may just ask them to send me a new 'widget' 'cause i'm sure i'd roach that tiny screw trying to back it out......

they said that position suffices for90% of the cameras they tested.

Can one of you guys upload a picture of this? I'm curious as to what you're talking about. I don't own the Focus but on most QR plates the camera mounting screw is captive but it can be removed by just unscrewing it.

Please let me know if you were successful in moving the slider to the other slot. I contemplated trying this, but didn't in the end because the HVX200 seemed to be balanced well enough with the plate as it was received.

i decided not to try and move it, and have asked ste-man for a second piece to install in the other slot.

actually, i need to buy a heavier camera, so that the plate will balance correctly as it's currently setup. hmm... something around the 5lb range perhaps....maybe a tad more depending on accesories.... anu ideas? i'd rather get a new camera than deal with this 50 cent part, you know?!

I did the removal and relocation you're talking about, and it does help balance the HVX on the Cartoni head. I was also concerned about stripping the screw, but was really careful and hopefully will not have to deal with it again. Works fine.
