Carrying Case

What's the best carrying case/bag for the HVX200?

There are so many bags..and I dont know which one to choose from.

I want a bag that can hold the camera and accessories like extra batteries, the charger, and tapes. I saw some bags that just fit the camera only and dont have enough room for the other stuff...and i dont wanna spend more than $200.

anyone have suggestions?

this has been talked about here a lot so you may want to do a search.

If you want a hard case, I recommend the im2500 Storm case bc it is flight legal. I have an HVX, 2 batteries, charger, P2 cards, manual in it and it fits fine. The 1510 is the Pelican version.

I use a Kata MC-61. It holds the HVX, 4 batteries, charger, P2 cards, vidled light, Laptop incl. charger/addl't batterie, Sennheiser Mic, cables, gaffer tape etc. etc.

Got the Petrol PWR-HDV bag with rollers. Fits HVX and lots of other goodies and can also fit my 17" MBP as its built with two separate compartments. Strong built and should last a good while.

I use the original factory case from my Sony VX1000. When I Ebayed it recently
I kept the case. The camera is a tight fit but will go - and is well protected. Probably the smallest possible hardshell case that could hold it. Storage underneath and in the lid. Might be possible to find one on Ebay.

Use the Pelican 1510. Have the HVX, 4 batteries, a charger, 1 P2 card, 4 minidv, a remote, and a dissicant gel. I can possibly fit 2 to 3 more P2 cards. The batteries and minidv are stacked (i.e. 2 deep in a single slot). I leave about an inch and a half between all parts.

I suggest the Kata bags for soft, and the Zacuto Storm cases for hard.

I haul a Pelican 1650 around... pain to go up and down long sets of stairs but safe and lots of space (and I check it when I fly with no problems)

The 16x9 Grab & Shoot Camcorder Bag works fine for me... carries my HVX, a Zacuto plate with 12" rods and a Chrosziel mattebox attached. There is enough room for batteries, chargers, WA zoom converter, warmcards, P2 cards, some filters, cleaning kit, etc... and Barry's Book!

It includes a Free 16x9 Small Mattebox Cover, just perfect for the Chrosziel.

Price is $184.95 plus shipping.
