Anybody else see the trailer for this? I just went to see Fantastic Four and saw it. I am kinda stoked about it. I love the Godfather movies, Scarface was good, Goodfellas..... They are the best movies to spend an entire weekend watching back to back. heh!

Anyway, thoughts on this one? Its got Luis Guzman, and I really really like him! Underrated...

I dunno . . .

Something about "sequels" or "prequels" without any of the original actors . . .

And Jay Hernandez as a young Pacino . . . ?

Sounds kind of lame.............

I hate that they are just using the name to make a buck. It obviously has nothing to do with the original so why not call it something else? Oh I know; cause it can't stand on it's own two feet that's why.

Sean Combs? Wait for Cinemax on this one.

ON that note; I love Godfather, Goodfellas and Scarface passionately which explains the built in prejudice I have for this pile of crap.

I would think a film like this would go straight to video. I'm kind of surprised the trailer has played in theatres (as well as before such a potential Box Office Behemoth that is the Fantastic Four). Looks like it might get some silver screen time afterall.

I havn't seen the trailer, so I can't make any snap judgments. BUT, the fact that both De Palma and Pacino are somehow missing from the line up isn't all to inspiring.

Hey thartley, do you surf? Sorry, but "stoked" caught my eye. I guess that is kind of catching on mainstream these days, though...

hahaha!!!! Nope, I dont surf, but have lived at the beach most of my life...until a month and a half ago.

On this prequel, I will reserve judgement until I see it. There is almost no film that I cant find something about to like. Combs did surprise me in the line-up, but hey! It wasnt Vin Diesel. He is just about the only factor in a movie that will make me categorically give a thumbs down. As its been said, "Story is King", so I'll see if this one can pull it off in any way.
