Card Advice : DVX DV to UnCompressed ???

Hi everyone,
I'm posting a feature shot DV with the Panny DVX in 24pA. I will cut in in a 24p timeline after removing the pulldown. After the edit is locked I want to do color corrects & effects in UnCompressed. Which card do you fine folks like? I need to view with a component monitor (not SDI) and want to do blurs (which look like poo in DV) in addition to Color grading before outputing to DVD or Beta. It would be nice if I can input from my BetaSP too for other gigs.

How ? Drag the DV sequance to the Uncompressed timeline & render ? I only have the camera to dig. from so recapture ?

Kona SP, Fuse, Toaster ???? Are CInewaves only 8 bit ?

Thanks so much

Steve

The DV compression happens inside the camera so going out to analog and re-digitizing with a card won't really buy you anything. It tends to soften the transition of DV stairsteps which some people prefer for keying but you can do the same thing in post processing.
You should be able to convert to uncompressed in the FCP timeline.
Cinewave and most other cards support >8 bits these day.
Of course once you go to DVD it will be compressed in MPEG format so won't be quite as clean as viewed on your monitor.
