Car Shoot

Hello everybody,

I'm in pre-production for a micro budget feature film called TANGLED UP IN BLUE that I will be shooting in London, UK starting November 20th.
I have a pretty long dialogue scene in a car with two actors inside, and I'm trying to figure out a way to do it in the best way.
I will be shooting on the dvx.
I'm considering either to tow the car to another vehicle and use a rig for the camera or to rent a low loader and put everything there, might be a little too expensive though.
Anybody has any experience with this? Perhaps in London?

Thanks a lot

Haider

I'm sure you'll have to get some permits to do this, especially in London. The usual way is to get a process trailer with a speedrail setup for your camera and lights, and a generator to run the lights with. This might be hard to do on the cheap, so you might be looking at renting a hostess-tray setup for your camera, and lighting the whole works with kino-flo's from inside the car.
