Car Scenes on DVX

I am currrently gonna shoot my thesis project on the DVX and there a couple of car scenes both in the day and night.
What are the things i should be looking out for when shooting these scenes?
Is it wise to work with natural lighting? like shooting in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the noon sun.

And looking for ways to do car mounts cheap.
Is it safe to just use a pump cup with a still photo head attached to it?

With a light camera like the DVX, you might want to consider the Sticky Pod:

For a heavier camera, I would go with a hostess tray rig.

Balancing the illumination levels between the interior and exterior of a car can be very difficult (hence why so often you will see the use of convertibles) but can be done with adding ND to the windows or as you have pointed out, avoiding the mid day.

This is a recurring question. Perhaps we should start a FAQ archive similar to what CML does. It is a very useful resource.

Any moderator thoughts?

Post some stills when you are done, and tell us what you did and what you would do next time. I'd love to see how it turns out.
