I'm in the process of finding the best choice to mount my AF100 to any type of car and I think i've narrowed it down between

and

Matthews Mastermount car mount

Are there some advantages to one over the other? They are basically in the same price range and seem to do a similar job, however I wonder which one is the better bang for the buck.

The Matthews one, based on the fact that it has smaller surface area per suction ( not 3 or 4 per plate ) makes me think that it might be more versatile. But maybe less secure?

Would greatly appreciate your two cents!

Thank you.

Hey Erik,

that looks interesting. Do you think it would be sufficient enough to hold the AF100 securely?

The reason i like the two i mentioned was because of the "trangulation" Which pulls the camera in three ways creating tension also helping to remove unwanted vibrations from the car.

What are your thoughts on that?

It would compare to any other 3 - 4 suction point mounting system. We have a hybrid kit which couples Manfrotto suction mounts to 5/8" rod and grip heads or Matthews MiniGrip. Let me know if you want a parts list!

also, I'm liking the fact that the sticky pod allows you to mount the camera not on the actual suction cup but a plate, which leads me to believe that there is a little more flexibility as to how and where you can mount the cam?

Oh, definitely email or PM me if you ever need a quote! I don't revisit my posts a lot of times.

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing your Sticky Pod kit. Let me know if you are still selling it, and let's figure out how to proceed.

FYI, I'm based in California, if that makes a difference.

Cheer!
