Ive been testing some car mounts

The next step is to use manfrotto suction cups

are there any hints about these for cars with fancy paintwork

they have mildly marked my old ewhite van but Im scared to apply to a vintage classic

and for your enjoyment.. my first test (not with suckers)

hi morgan
make sure the paintwork is polished and the suction cups are clean.
if the paintwork is not polished some rubber from the cups will mark the paintwork, it is removable with a bit of duco polish.
always strap down the rig when moving, then if it does come unstuck it will not go anywhere.
the top of the camera should be locked down to the car to stop vibrations. (i use magic arms)
i put some pictures of the rigs i have used in previous car mount threads, do a quick search.
cheers

Probably pretty obvious, but make sure the car is clean.
By the looks of it you could just have the owner bring along a "shammy" or something like it.
The small about of dust vibrating under the tight rubber mounts will scratch the paint enough to leave the slightest haze.

If you are using larger rigs, like Hostess trays and hood mounts, then the suction cups are almost just pads, and the ratchet strap configuration holds the mount in place.
