id like to mount my camera to the outside of a car while driving on the freeway. anyone have any experience with this, probably be going 65-70mph? any mount better then the other for this sort of thing?
Last summer I shot a high speed racing sequence on a Philadelphia highway. I mounted my DVX on a tripod (very small one). Pushed the front seat all the way back as far as it would go. Sandbagged the small tripod legs. The tripod even has a crank to elevate the camera. I was able to get some really COOL shots and keep the camera perfectly safe from harm. At one point I even spun the camera around to get shots of me shifting through the gears.
i bought the universal car mount from film tools in burbank. i used on the freeway with no problems ,although i was on the 101 at 5:30 p.m so i was probably doing about 40mph at the most
