Car Mount- homebuilt??

hey guys, i was wondering if any of you have a car mount for you dvx's, so you can get shots from the hood of a car.

if so, where can i buy one, or learn how to make one?

I know it has it's detractors, but I'm a big fan of the stickypod. I use it for alot more than just the automotive applications. Works great on bathroom mirrors, (killer shot) windows, glass. The little one can be used on a motorcycle. The accessories are stout and nicely built. I've never had one come loose on me. I prep the surface very well and I always, always use a saftey line on the camera - Great shots can be had. Check it out.

i got the one from filmtools.

they have the car mount kit + the 3 point update.

i got both of those and then added a few more of the suction/vacuum cups and a few of the stainless steel 5/8th rods.

its nice because its just a giant erector set so you can rearrange it all you want. your only limitation is your imagination. i use a bogen mini-ball head to mount it all on top.

the 40" matthew gobo arm with the built in grip head is just fun to have because it comes in handy all the time.

these odds and ends are used more for lighting than for cars.

it can also really make the difference when you need to mount a mic someplace weird too.

Welcome, lowy, glad you got your answer. As for cursing, I ****in' do it and I haven't gotten in trouble ;D I just wouldn't do it too much, as in like that last sentence with the pointless (well, except for the attempted humour) swear word.
