Car montage

Ok so I just bought a Ford Focus and Im starting to mod it. 6-7 mods in less than a month, thats fast. anyway, I want to do a video that alot of you have proabably seen on youtube with their car driving around with music... BORING!! I want to spice it up a bit.. Any ideas?

a few years ago i too was sucked into the lore of the ford focus. after watching several commercials in which american idol contestants sang about the car, i knew i had to have one. after all, if it was good enough for justin guarini, why not me?

it just made sense.

in retrospect, it probably wasn't the wisest decision to make a major purchase because of a popular reality tv show. i've learned my lesson.

Yeah I wasnt going to get something foreign, I like to stay with an american made vehicle. Plus, Ive been in love with the Focus since they came out back in 1999-2000.

ugafan, if you buy a car because of a bunch of people get paid to be in one, then youre just retarted. Sorry, but thats just stupid.

Learn a little bit about where the money goes with foreign cars. With Subaru, Saab, Volvo, Mazda, and some others you are "buying American" ... BMW, Mercedes, Honda, and Toyota all have plants in the US now as well, though the ownership groups are still overeas. The globalization of the auto industry is pretty pervasive. All you're doing by supporting Ford, Chrysler, and GM is supporting inefficient business models and substandard engineering. Congratulations. You now own an 8 year old car since Ford has put very little into improving on the original design.

i was joking about the american idol thing. seriously though, i have had some major problems with the car. repaired two different leaks, air conditioning, engine mount, broken axels, cv joint, ignition, radiator hose, timing belt, brakes and rotors (twice)...

the focus spends more time in the shop than my 17 year old mazda.

yeah ok, hey here's an idea. Instead of bashing my purchase and putting me down for buying a car that you dont like, how bout some ideas?

vary your shots and choose an interesting location. have a mix of interior and exterior shots. you may want to get a car mount to have shots of your car and from your car as its moving. vegas at night would be pretty cool.

Sorry, man. I get carried away with car talk - I'm a car nut, always have been.

The Focus is definetly your best choice for an American made subcompact. How's that? :)

Watch some Speed Channel and maybe some enthusiast DVDs for ideas for shot selection and editing tricks. I've seen some phenomenal footage that was shot inexpensively. I don't have any specific suggestions since I don't know your sensibilities, but you can get a lot of mileage out of cool angles of the car with cool backdrops. Music will be key too.
