Hello,

I am new and am an airhead, so any help would be wonderful.

1. I bought an Iomega 250GB external drive. During capture mode, I selected the material to be saved onto the external drive, but when I press record, it says there is a recording error. This doesn't happen when I select the material to be captured onto an internal drive, like the C drive. How do I capture material onto the Iomega drive?

2. I am trying to find a way to plug my DVX into a Mac. My 4-pin DV cable doesn't fit into any of the Mac slots. What kind of cable should I look for.

#2 I think you need the DV cable with the big connection at the end. I think it's call a 6-pin firewire cable. You can either buy an adapter for your 4 pin or you can just pick up a 6-pin cable, they're both pretty cheap.

How do I capture material onto the Iomega drive?

How is the Iomega drive connected to your computer? You may be running into a bottleneck if the connection is not fast enough or is shared through a bus.

just discovered that the drive requires USB 2.0 and I am running USB 1.1 so I need to go buy me an upgrade.
