Capturing VHS into FCP 5

Im transferring vhs for a friend and am doing it on my apple system. I mainly use avid. I captured about 30 two hour tapes and in each clip the audio falls out of synch with the video, sometimes 20 seconds out of synch by the end of the clip. I set the capture to non-controllable device. is there a solution for this?

The solution is to capture only 15 minute chunks at a time.

Yeah I've noticed that with capturing footage with uncontrollable device.

Is that a bug?

No... not a bug... the nature of FCP's ability to be super picky about timecode.

Open the captured file in Quicktime... does it drift there? Probably not.

Try this - a thought with no proof...

Try and export the clip from QT again makeing sure it's DV/NTSC 48/16 etc.
