Ok, im giving Vegas a bit more of a try since everyone is loving it. Im giving it play, and doing more videos in it lately until I get Premiere Pro 1.5. So the thing is, how do you make it capture to 1 file? Cause I keep trying to find that option in the capture setting and nothing is working out. Everytime I capture the whole tape it splits the video into a bunch of different files which just pisses me off in life. I want to kill something. But hey, you guys are here, almost forgot about you. How do you get this to work? Please help me !!!! ASAP!!! I need to import and finish editing this video tonight!

PS : This is also our first 24p project too. When finally got to do some work with the dvx. Dont worry, ill post the video up and some frame grabs too! As long as I can get this into 1 file! (Captured)

Siigh.  You bite me in the ass and it's the last time . . .

In the capture window:

Options/Preferences/Capture -- unclick "Enable DV scene detection."  Windows 101.

David's exactly right, as always. BUT: if it's a 24P project you're working on, you may not want to do this. I don't know if the cadence will be properly preserved across multiple start/stop instances. You may have to capture the clips individually to make sure the cadence is preserved.

Maybe it's smart enough to know how to do it anyway and maybe there's nothing to worry about... just check it before you get too far. Spot-check throughout your captured file, you should never see an interlaced frame. If you do, it means that the clips will likely have to be captured individually.

good point, Barry... I've never captured as one clip this way so I wonder if there is an issue... I may ask Sony if they've seen problems.
