Can anyone tell me how to capture standard def in final cut pro hd what settings thanks.

DV? DVCPRO 50? Via firewire with an appropriate deck.

BetaSP? BetaSX? Digibeta? With the use of a capture card like the AJA I/O or Kona series.

What settings? What are you trying to do? There are many workflows for the many tasks and types of editing that people are doing.

There are many ways of doing things.

I'll buy that but for now I needed it asap I just played it on dvd and recorded boot leg.

It's the NTSC-DV preset, or the PAL-DV preset, depending on where you live.
