Capturing sound from a speech/theatre venue

Here is the situation tomorrow night, hotel ballroom:

- 2 speakers one after one other, 10 + 30 minutes
- 35 minute play with back video projection, 2 actors

- 2 cameras, one with intelligent but slightly unexperienced operator (B cam, stationary on tripod), cam A can move
- SD722, Fostex FR-2, SD302
- 2 short shotguns, 2 MS stereo mics, 2 Octavas any capsule, 2 DPA 4060
- 2 stereo outs from soundboard

My plan so far:

- patch from soundboard to SD722 to get continuous audio (longer than 63 min tape), 24/48 to be safe
- shotgun pointing at audience for audience reactions, to camera A
- Stereo feed from stereo mic (Pearl MSH10) to cam B for backup and ambience

Any ideas for improvement?

I would get a TC recorder(renting is your friend :) ), and send the TC out to the two cams. Assuming they are DVX style cams, I would record TC signal to left audio channel on both to sync the cams and sound in post. Drop the stereo ambient as it won't give you much. Run an Oktava on a wire to the stationary cam's right channel.

The TC will save you hours in editing for both syncing up the sound and cutting for a multi-cam shoot.

Good luck
