Capturing SD, Image Looks Very Soft

I'm capturing sd mini dv tapes in edius, they were shot on a dvx 100b, I'm using my hvx 200 to play the tapes and send the signal to my computer via firewire.

My project is setup for uncompressed capture 720x480, on my computer the images look VERY soft even when I use the windows media player to play them back on my computer.

When I play the tapes through my hvx to a TV via the RCA output jack they look really good and not soft.

Is there something I should be doing in capture to corect this or is this normal?

Not sure Chip, first thing I would try though would be to capture to another setting. Start with the standard Canopus HQ or Lossess.
How do they look played off the timline out to a TV/Monitor?
 
Hey Gary,

I ended up using my Avid to capture the mini dv tapes. I'm sure I didn't have something set right in Edius.
