Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

well i know you can do all of this with Vegas... but i know only this about avid, with the mojo you can capture and spit out 24 fps. but yes its only with the mojo.... thats all i know. (and i hope i know that)

Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

can anyone confirm that what I capture directly from my camera is not 24p? :(

Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

You do not need Mojo to capture 24p directly from teh Panasonic DBX100 camera when using Advanced pulldown. DIrect Firewire connection will work just fine. The reduntant frames are removed during the capture process. An Audio Delay can also be selected for the first version of the camera.

Xpress Pro always assumes ADVANCED when capturing and will complain it is not. Also, teh LCD flip out on the camera will show 24A on one of the on screen displays (if enabled in the menus).

Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

so you can create 24fps stuff in avid without using the mojo? and finish the projects? Why though, just use the mojo, you got it. Well you know what actually, i had the mojo and my cat ate through the wire of it, along with my firewire to my ipod and my second computers speakers. i am so pissed at my cat, but i have since replaced everything. But when i was without the mojo for that time, if i would have known that. hehe wait, i dont have advx yet. lol. im crazy.

Micheal man, god bless you dude! I wish I would have had teachers like you in my editing class!! thanks again!

Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

3rd opinion and I am more confused, it means that I got 30 fps then? NTSC? no 24p without mojo? this is driving me crazy.. I swear, everyone that I ask gives me a different answer :(

Re: Capturing real 24p or not?

The DV tape is 29.97 with ADVANCED pulldown. The 23.976p proejct will take in a 29.97 DV signal and remove the frames to create native 23.976p footage on disc. All editing is done at 23.976p native. You do not need to Mojo to capture in this project type, but you do need a Mojo to reinsert the 2:3 pulldown when going back out over FireWire to NTSC.
