Capturing quality

I shot a good amount of material on a DVX100 and I want to capture in FCP. I want to avoid exposing the video heads of the camera to any extra wear and tear, since they've already proven to be a bit sensitive. I was thinking of using this small sony trv-17 single chip camera that I have as a vtr to digitize the material. Will I lose any quality this way?

Thanks!

Not at all, I do the same, I use my Canon Optura200mc as a capture device, the video is digitized on tape, it makes no difference if it is being captured on a high quality mini-DV device, or low-quality, whatever information on the tape will transfer over, and to answer any future questions, if you shoot in 24p and capture in a regular consumer cam, it will still be 24p

I hope many many hours of prospores recording heads for your dvx
