Capturing problems with FCP HD

I am running FCP 4.5 on a Titanium Powerbook. Before I updated from FCP 4, I had no problem capturing 24P Advanced video with the "Remove Pulldown" capture preset.

Now, when I try to capture 24PA video, my computer captures one or two clips, then tells me there is a "pulldown cadence" error. And now it won't capture even a clip at a time.

I am capturing directly to my hard drive with another camcorder (but again, this should work fine; and it worked fine before...)

And yes, I'm positive I shot it in 24P Advanced Mode, because I turned the dial on my new camera to scene file 6 when I took it out of the box, and it hasn't been moved since.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Capturing problems with FCP HD

When I have a "pulldown cadence" error (Which I just started getting now that I've upgraded to HD) I can usually re-try the capture and it is sucessful the second time around.

Does your capture no longer work in 4 HD? Or is it just sometimes when you capture?

Re: Capturing problems with FCP HD

I am able to capture normally (no pulldown removal) and then use Cinema Tools to Batch Reverse Pulldown all the footage.

This is certainly an okay situation, but far from ideal. Hopefully some kind of patch for the program will appear soon.
