capturing problem in fcp 4.5

I have fcp 4.5 on a g4 (new mac pro in the mail!) and whenever I try to capture it only captures 5 min then freezes up. I know there was a problem with the quicktime update but i downloaded the latest one and it still hasnt helped, any solutions? thanks
 
QT 7.3 and later are not compatible with FCP. And Apple will not make fixes to later versions to support older versions of FCP. Your best bet would be to get back to QT 7.1.6 (6.5 really for FCP 4.5) by using Pacifist to remove QT then installing the previous version of QT, or to do an Archive and Install of your system.

Sucks, but what you have to do.
