Capturing only audio

Its possible to capture only audio (in Sony Vegas 8)?

Capture in what sense? During import of a DV tape, or to the timeline on a new audio track? Elaborate please.

I've often wondered if there was a way to do this as well, since I'm always having to capture the tape, throw the audio on a timeline, render it out in .pca and then delete the huge video file to save space. It would be nice if I could just get audio right out of the gate.

Put the camera in DV mode and capture audio only using Scenalyzer Live.

you could run the audio out from your camera into your soundcard(or interface like m-audio) and open a audio track in vegas, arm it and hit play on your camera and record on vegas.

If nothing else, you can capture, export the audio as WAV, and delete the video.
