Capturing Mpeg footage from a CD in Premiere Pro 1.5?

A friend of mine was filming some "behind the scenes" stuff while we used the DVX for shooting our film. He's not set up to burn DVD's so he gave me the footage on a CD in Mpeg format. Is there a way to capture from the CD and convert the clips to .avi files so I can use them in our Premiere Pro 1.5 project? We're shooting with the DVX in 24P mode and he used a consumer quality camcorder.

Why did he give you the clips as Mpegs???? I beleive you can bring the Mpegs into Premiere but you will NOT be able to edit them. Maybe that's only available with the Matrox card.....

You may be better off trying to get hold of the original tapes and capture the footage yourself.....
