Capturing into Premiere with a cheap camera

Like most of you, I cannot afford a 3-4k dollar dv tape deck. SO I bought a cheap but effective dv camcorder that I use to send the footage into premiere. Now, my question is, by importing footage that i shot in 24p through that cheap camcorder, will it change the speed? will it bump it up to 30fps? I want to make absolutely sure or else this camcorder is useless to me. Will the footage remain in 24p or does it get altered in anyway? Thanks!

All footage...even your 24p footage...is recorded at 29.97. It's when you open it up in your NLE that the pulldown is removed and you have your 23.976(24P) footage. So the answer is no...the cheap camera will not effect your footage in anyway. I use a 50 dollar camera from EBAY...no worries.
