Capturing in Premiere Pro 2.0 with Vista (Capture Device Offline)?

On my laptop with Vista, Premiere Pro 2.0 is telling me the Capture Device is Offline (but it works on my computer with XP).

Any ideas? I'd do it on my XP comp, but I don't have any room to plug it in...

anyone else having this problem? Is anyone else able to capture from Premiere Pro 2.0 with Vista?

I was using on my Sony Laptop with Vista and Premiere Pro 2 and it worked fine.

Try checking your firewire cable is in properly (try 2 different cables, one may be bad) and make sure that your capture settings are correct, with proper Camera selected.

Also check that your computer is compatible with Premiere Pro , they used to have a problem with AMD processors a while ago.

If all else fails then theres a problem with the firewire port on either the Camera or computer. Try to connect each to different firewire devices and see if they actually work.

I hope this helps!

Just after installing PP2 on vista, I got this msg, the first time.

restarting the computer, solved that.

If you are with Canon HDV, dont forget to download CanonHDV preset for PP2 from adobe site.
