Capturing in FCP

Ok guys, i have been on for an hour now trying to figure out this one stupid little thing that is killing me. I am new to FCP, former Premiere Pro user, and in PP when i capture from my DVX100B it notices when i had pressed record/stop record in the field and makes a new clip for me. in FCP it just keeps on capturing never making any new clips. I need help. the tape doesn't have any timecode breaks in between clips, it just keeps going. i need help, project due tuesday and need your help.

I can log each clip, but it would be muich easier if FCP would just recognize every time i pressed record and make a new clip. can FCP do this.

After you capture the clip... use START STOP DETECTION. I think it's under MODIFY menu. Select the clip in the browser and then apply.
