Capturing help...

So i just got my hands on a G5, sweet machine! It's my first time on a mac, and I have read all the FAQs and posts on capturing 24p and 24pA footage. I am completely confused on how to do it, the manual I have for FCP did nothing to help me understand and some of the posts here even have me confused as some say this way and some say that way.

So how do I do it? Do I need to be shooting in 24pA now instead of 24p? I want to edit on a 23.98 timeline if I can. Any advice or help getting me pointed in the right direction would be awesome!!!

Thanks

Yes, you need to shoot in 24PA mode.

When you capture, go to your capture presets and choose "DV NTSC 24P Advanced"
(I think that's what it's called, i'm not on my FCP system right now)

FCP should capture your footage and remove the pulldown automatically.
The captured clips should show up in your project with a framrate of 23.976

At that point just create a new sequence - make sure your sequence settings are set to 23.976fps - and you're all set.
