sorry i tried to search these forums but I still have a few basic questions i just dont understand. If you can answer any of these it would help me greatly!
1) I have edited with FCP and shot with a dvx100b for the past 3 years now. I have always just set my sequence and capture settings to dv ntsc anamorphic and left everything else at the automatic settings. (i shoot in squeeze mode).
to export i would just go to file>export>quicktime movie and from what i have been told just saving it that way with the current settings is what i need to store it as full quality? Is this the best, or am i doing something wrong?
2) I am editing some video for a friend using their canon HD vixia HF200. If i just go to log and transfer, will my settings in FCP automatically change from dv ntsc anamorphic to whatever they need to be?
Or do i need to change the capture and sequence settings before i log and transfer? Do i need to change other settings as well? If so, what do i need to change these settings to?
3) I totally dont understand exporting with HD. How should i save this video to keep it as full quality just to store (since i delete the actual project for space)?
4) It says the camera resolution is 1920x1080 - but how come all the FCP settings are detecting the camera as 1440x1080? does this matter at all? am i just that stupid?
