Hy again guys...
...so i've been doing some tests with my new camcorder (DVX100BE), shooting some 25p footage. Untill now i've been capturing my old camcorder's interlaced material with Pinnacle Studio 9 in my computer, but it seems that it doesn't cope too well with my new camcorder or with 25p as it gave me A LOT of capturing errors - the screen would become full of big blocks and spikes together with sound errors ( btw did anyone have a similar experience with Studio 9 concerning 25p ? ). I thought maybe the cassete ( TDK shot in normal mode ) was broken, but then i re-captured the footage with Sony Vegas and everything went smoothly
So i guess that from now on Vegas will be the one to capture my 25p footage, but i have some questions for you veterans.
So, in the capture meniu, under the preferences - capture - sub-meniu, there's this option - Analog device option - custom framerate - 29,970 ntsc - Does it have anything to do with my PAL capture ? Should i change it to 25 or leave it ? does this option affect my capture in any way ?
And second, in preferences - preview - it says Pixel aspect ratio - automatic and Base DV decoding resolution on Preview Window size.Shoul i change the Pixel aspect ratio to PAL DV ? Do these options affect in any way my resulting aspect ratio? or are they exclusively preview window related ?
I know my questions are very n00b-ish, but i'd really apreciate some quick answers....
10x a lot !
