Capturing DVX100b taped footage into SVMS+DVD...where's the beef?

After capturing DV from taped footage recorded on the Pan... AG-DVX100B via the firewire using Sony's Video Capture 6.0, how do I get the captured footage out of Sony's capture application onto the timeline within SVMS? I blinked three times and clicked my fingers twice and nothing happened.

Last night, an hour's worth of footage went to la la land after I shut down the video capture application without checking to see if the captured video was automatically loaded onto the timeline. I assumed the footage was getting loaded onto the hard drive somewhere...appears the boogey guy (or guyette) got it.

I've checked this forum (and the Sony support site) for a similar problem...and nada. I guess my problem should be located in a "Vegas for Dummies" forum.

:violin:

Any help would be appreciated...and I'm gonna get that VASST video soon. It has a section on DV capture...hopefully it is geared for dummies.

Find the location of the file. Unless you neglected to hit the Record button, the file is stored in the Capture Default folder. If you didn't specify one, then do a simple search for files over 500 megs, or files created within the last day, and catagorize by size. If it's there, you'll find it.

Thank you.

This afternoon, I did a replay...and recaptured the video. I learned that I had failed to hit the "done" button after I hit the "stop" button. Down here in Texas, "stop" and "done" mean the same thing (smile).

The VMS software is pretty cool stuff...but the tutorials need some help for those of us...er...for me who is technically challenged.
